The successful Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehouse functions in support of the T44/T54 program.
Essential Responsibilities:
- As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
- Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents.
- Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
- Remove equipment from shipping containers.
- Store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
- Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials.
- Examine stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
- Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
- Must operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
- Responsible for transporting calibrated items to calibration lab.
- Be familiar with excess/unserviceable material disposal and processes.
- In put data into computerized system.
- Handle/Deliver hazardous material.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High school degree or equivalent training/experience and a valid driver's license.
- Twelve months job related experience in government or industrial warehouse operations is required.
- Individuals must also pass and maintain a Background Investigation and access to required information systems.
- Must have valid state driver's license
- Must be able to work all assigned shifts & schedules
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. This position may require the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance.
