This acquisition marks Pure's largest investment to date and signifies our deeper entry into the rapidly expanding market for multi-cloud data services supporting Kubernetes and container technologies.

Position Overview:

ARE YOU READY TO EMBRACE THIS CHALLENGE...

As a Senior Program Manager (SPM) for Product and Engineering Operations, you will enhance the execution success of the Portworx R&D organization by implementing straightforward yet effective operational practices and processes from collaborative definition to successful adoption, automation, and measurement.

Your role will be pivotal in advancing Portworx's Product and Engineering operations to optimize the business processes, systems, and tools utilized to manage and achieve key business objectives.

To accomplish this, you will work closely with leaders in Product and Engineering, as well as your counterparts in other Business Units within the Product Business Group (PBG) at Pure. You will balance the need for individual functions to maximize their autonomy while ensuring alignment with the overall operational efficiency of Portworx product teams.

Within Product and Engineering, you will continuously refine practices and processes to meet the evolving needs of the Portworx team, from quarterly execution planning to ad hoc reprioritization, all while promoting the adoption of our operations through automation, simplicity, and effectiveness.

You will also collaborate closely with the Customer Experience operations team to ensure that practices and processes are seamlessly integrated from the initial customer interaction to ongoing product support.

As part of the broader TPM team, you will work in tandem with your peers to enhance TPM practices and processes, facilitating successful deliveries to our customers and partners at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define and refine effective Product and Engineering processes and practices (e.g., quarterly roadmap planning, feature lifecycle management, release oversight, OKR tracking, operational reviews).
  • Optimize the utilization of R&D tools and automation for efficient reporting and metrics tracking; including Power BI, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Facilitate alignment among functions to maximize their autonomy while ensuring that the collective practices and processes serve Portworx's overall needs.
  • Provide motivation through clarity. For instance, manage change by clearly communicating: Why is a change necessary? How was the decision made? What is changing?
  • Guide the team in adhering to established practices and processes—gather feedback to evolve our operations for successful large-scale delivery.
  • Conduct regular leadership updates and proactively identify areas where leadership input is required.
  • Lead programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing business process operations across the R&D organization.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in one or more of the following areas: Business Process Operations, Portfolio, Program and Project Management, New Product Introduction, or Product Operations within a commercial software development and delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated success in designing systems, processes, workflows, templates, tools, and automation for managing software development and delivery.
  • Expertise in identifying risks and balancing trade-offs across a variety of practices and processes throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in establishing and applying agile product and engineering development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and adept at adapting these in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
  • Proficient in facilitating alignment of competing needs and constraints through critical thinking, ensuring the right level of operations when delivering complex products under tight timelines.
  • Experienced in managing Product and Engineering Operations from inception to completion (including collaborative definition, change/adoption management, stakeholder engagement).
  • Clear and concise communicator, particularly in documenting and introducing new practices and processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Confluence, with a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on JIRA Cloud Administration experience.
  • Experience in evolving a wide range of practices and processes for Product and Engineering teams responsible for enterprise software development and release, from startups to established corporations.
  • This role requires in-office presence for 3 days a week, as outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, with variations based on business needs.

USD $190,000.00 - USD $284,000.00 /Yr.
