POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Associate plays a vital role in assisting Management in fostering a customer-centric and product-oriented sales environment, where our core values and guiding principles drive all store operations. This includes ensuring an exceptional customer experience and maximizing profitability. We take pride in our work and believe that our teams create an outstanding workplace for growth and learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Achieving Sales Goals

Contributes to company sales objectives by employing effective sales techniques and sharing product knowledge with customers; assists in merchandise selection or helps locate items based on customer preferences.

Stays informed about current promotions and pricing; upholds visual and merchandising standards.

Ensures compliance with merchandise handling, presentation, loss prevention, and other tasks as assigned by Management.

Participates in visual merchandising initiatives, including monthly store layouts and maintenance.

Enhancing Customer Experience

Exemplifies and promotes the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles, delivering a seamless omni-channel experience.

Addresses customer inquiries promptly and effectively.

Facilitates a quick and efficient checkout process, remaining knowledgeable about payment policies, coupon usage, returns, exchanges, security protocols, and other operational procedures.

Encourages additional purchases at checkout, including gift card sales.

Enlists clients in the rewards program.

Builds and nurtures a loyal customer base through personalized service and wardrobe consultations.

Maintains awareness of current product offerings and styles available in-store and online.

Ensures consistent communication with clients through a customer tracking system.

Operational Excellence

Assists in replenishment tasks to keep the store well-stocked and inviting.

Supports order fulfillment processes.

Contributes to visual merchandising tasks, including floor sets, window displays, and signage placement as directed.

Helps maintain store cleanliness and organization.

Collaboration and Development

Encourages a collaborative approach to problem-solving within the team.

Seeks opportunities for personal development and actively requests feedback.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred experience in retail or sales.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Able to adapt to technology utilized by the company.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and Management.

Regular attendance is crucial for this role to ensure adequate coverage for company objectives. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Constant walking/standing throughout the shift.

Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. (1-33% of the shift).

Frequent climbing (34%-66% of the shift).

Compensation for this position starts at $12.50/hour or the applicable city/local minimum wage. Store associates may be eligible for incentive compensation based on various factors, including store performance and metrics. Chico's FAS, Inc. reserves the right to modify incentive compensation at its discretion.
