Job Title: Senior Technical Support Specialist

Job Summary:

The Senior Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and solutions to University Housing and Dining (UHD) end-users. This includes installing, monitoring, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware, software, and audio-visual equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide timely computer desktop and technology support to UHD end-users.
  • Understand technology issues by listening, asking follow-up questions, taking detailed notes, and using resources to research and solve problems.
  • Operate and test the functionality of all AV and integrated conference rooms.
  • Perform routine testing and problem diagnosis for projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, and displays.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to resolve problems or identify resolutions to appropriate vendors or manufacturers.
  • Install, configure, repair, maintain, and upgrade Windows/Mac hardware and related equipment.
  • Assist with IT inventory and participate in UHD initiatives.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings and perform special projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School graduation or GED.
  • Three years installing and configuring Microsoft products, including Windows Desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Three years of demonstrated experience in IT customer service and/or help desk environment.
  • Knowledge of directory services and remote access tools.
  • Knowledge of computer and peripheral operations, installation, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing a Citrix Virtual Desktop Environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience supporting systems remotely.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple projects.
Working Conditions:

The Senior Technical Support Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work in all weather conditions, extreme temperatures, and around standard office conditions.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $67,000 depending on qualifications.
