Job Summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Support Specialist to join our team in University Housing and Dining. As a key member of our IT support team, you will provide technical assistance and solutions to end-users, ensuring seamless technology support and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing computer desktop and technology issues.
  • Operate and test audio-visual equipment, performing routine testing and problem diagnosis to ensure optimal performance.
  • Install, configure, repair, maintain, and upgrade Windows/Mac hardware and related equipment, including desktops, laptops, iPads, and printers.
  • Assist with IT inventory and participate in UHD initiatives, attending regular meetings and performing special projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience installing and configuring Microsoft products, including Windows Desktop Operating Systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Three years of demonstrated experience in IT customer service and/or help desk environment, with knowledge of directory services and remote access tools.
  • Knowledge of computer and peripheral operations, installation, and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing a Citrix Virtual Desktop Environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and take initiative.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work in all weather conditions and extreme temperatures. The successful candidate will also be required to work around standard office conditions, chemicals, electrical and mechanical hazards, and repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.
