We are seeking an experienced Customer Service Delivery Specialist to join our team at Batteries Plus - GEN Aspire, LLC in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, and Norfolk. As a Delivery Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition.

Salary: $13 to $16 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be friendly with the public, comfortable having conversations about our products and services, and possess excellent customer service skills. You will be responsible for delivering products to our commercial customers, including golf cart batteries and 8D Industrial Batteries. The role requires the ability to lift 65 pounds without assistance and team lift up to 160 pounds on a regular basis.

You will also be responsible for transferring products between stores and warehouse, ensuring that they arrive safely at their correct destination each day. This includes taking products off pallets at the warehouse and bringing them out to the stores, which can weigh as much as 75 pounds.

Additionally, you will be responsible for loading used batteries onto a van and unloading them by forklift at the warehouse. You will also need to process these batteries for recycling, including stacking them correctly, wrapping them in pallet wrap, weighing them on a scale, and placing the prepared pallet on a rack 20 feet above the floor.

Recycling also includes picking up pre-packaged boxes of light bulbs for recycling at the stores and from customers and bringing them back to the warehouse. Once at the warehouse, you will need to count the bulbs, place them on a pallet, wrap them in pallet wrap, and store them on racks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years prior experience in customer service, driving, or warehouse management.
  • Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks to effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with the Norfolk area and surrounding cities.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude or technical experience is desired.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack and forklift with a valid forklift license.
  • Monday - Friday 8a-5p availability, with some weekends based on need.
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required.
  • Ability to pass a background check for access to military bases and government installations.
