Supplier Quality Engineer III

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Supplier Quality Engineer III, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our launch vehicles and spacecraft.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and select suitable suppliers for avionics and electrical equipment, ensuring they meet our quality and technical standards.
  • Lead suppliers through the resolution of discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions, to ensure compliance with our quality management processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement quality management systems that meet our requirements.
  • Communicate supplier performance to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, and hardware acceptance to ensure compliance with our quality standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or manufacturing processes.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in a manufacturing field, with at least 5 years in a supplier quality engineering role.
  • Technical background and experience with avionics, electronics, and PCB assembly practices.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Self-initiation and excellent time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development to production.
  • Relevant experience in performing supplier source inspections.
  • Relevant experience in AS9100 auditing.
  • Relevant experience with GIDEP.
  • IPC certifications/endorsements.
  • American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification.
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification.
