Supplier Quality Engineer III

At Blue Origin, we are committed to developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate the suitability and stability of current and potential avionics and electrical equipment suppliers regarding quality and technical capability.
- Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans.
- Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives.
- Communicate supplier performance to senior management.
- Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance, and corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the supplier base.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or manufacturing processes.
- 10+ years' industry experience in a manufacturing field with at least 5 years in a supplier quality engineering role.
- Technical background and experience with one or more of the following aerospace commodities: avionics, electronics, and PCB assembly practices.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and possess a valid driver's license.
- Quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Self-initiation and excellent time management skills.
- Competency to stay closely connected to leadership structure and operational customers while working remotely.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operations.
- Relevant experience in performing supplier source inspections.
- Relevant experience in AS9100 auditing.
- Relevant experience with GIDEP.
- IPC certifications/endorsements.
- American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification.
- Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification.
