Flight Systems Operations Engineer III

Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Flight Systems Operations Engineer III to join our Test & Flight Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, build, maintenance, and operations of ground systems, test and launch facilities across multiple locations.
This role is a critical part of our New Glenn orbital launch vehicle program, where you will work closely with the Sr Manager of New Glenn Launch Vehicle Fluids Operations to process systems from receipt of the New Glenn stages at the launch site through launch and landing.
As a Launch Operations Engineer, you will develop operational requirements, advocate for design-for-operations, and author detailed procedures to complete integrated flight systems testing. You will also lead a team of technicians and engineers, ensuring the safety of the team and the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain ground systems, test and launch facilities
- Process systems from receipt of the New Glenn stages at the launch site through launch and landing
- Develop operational requirements and advocate for design-for-operations
- Author detailed procedures for integrated flight systems testing
- Lead a team of technicians and engineers, ensuring safety and quality
Requirements:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering, Science, or Math
- Minimum 6+ years of demonstrated technical expertise in cryogenic, propellant handling, or engine systems
- Strong operations planning and organizational skills
- Effective technical communications capabilities
- Ability to support occasional off-shift work schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of hydraulic system operation and maintenance processes
- Recent experience with launch vehicle integration and launch operations
- Control room or operations experience in a real-time, intense, and high-consequence environment
