SCOPE:

Armed Security Specialists are tasked with safeguarding the facility's buildings, grounds, assets, employees, tenants, and visitors from criminal activities, accidents, and fire hazards.

In this role, you will be responsible for securing one of the state's most vital infrastructures:

our military installations. You will collaborate with a team to manage access control at all entry and exit points and conduct vehicle patrols throughout the premises.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Armed Security Specialist at DK Security, your responsibilities may vary based on the specific site.

Officers will perform foot and vehicle patrols according to the location.

Additional responsibilities may include:
Customer Relations - This site relies heavily on maintaining positive relationships with clients, resident families, and residents.
Access Control - Ensure that only authorized personnel gain entry to the site.
Camera Monitoring - Oversee CCTV for safety and security issues.

Foot Patrol - Inspect the interior and exterior of various buildings on site, monitoring for security, safety, or maintenance concerns.

Mobile Patrol - Survey parking lots, roads, building exteriors, and remote areas in a security vehicle.
Monitor Fire Alarms - Ensure fire alarms are functioning correctly.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must hold a current, valid Concealed Pistol License.
Must possess either a high school diploma or GED equivalent (some college experience is preferred).

Must demonstrate good moral character and successfully pass a criminal background check, with no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for criminal sexual conduct or related offenses, theft, assault, illegal substances, multiple alcohol-related offenses, or crimes of moral turpitude.

Must be able to pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
Must maintain impeccable grooming standards.
Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image to clients, employees, supervisors, managers, and the general public.

Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to resolve issues and de-escalate situations non-confrontationally.

These skills include the ability to read and write in English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and reports.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various locations.

Must possess a valid State of Michigan driver's license, with a clean driving record, including less than 3 moving violations and less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years.

Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (prior certification is preferred).
2 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Must be physically and mentally fit.
Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Must be able to reach with hands and arms and hold objects.
Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for 8-12 hour shifts, including walking long distances and possibly up and down stairs.
Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations.
Must be able to work indoors or outdoors in all seasons.
Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.

Must have flexible availability and willingness to work on short notice.

Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED

Certification Requirements:
Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
