Carry out inpatient admission duties, including direct admissions and emergency department processes. Responsibilities also encompass switchboard operations, accurately collecting patient demographics, verifying patient identification, and checking insurance eligibility. Additional responsibilities may include special projects as directed by management. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification from the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM). Proven experience in handling insurance and patient accounts, typing, basic computer skills, math proficiency, and outstanding customer service is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality are vital. Familiarity with medical terminology, office practices, and proficiency in Microsoft Windows are advantageous for success in this role.
