The U.S. Department of the Interior is seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our team in a Water Ratesetting Specialist role. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a full range of accounting support duties in the examination, verification, and maintenance of accounting data in support of Branch activities.
Key Responsibilities- Generate reports and statements relevant to the Annual Delivery Verification process, including the Water Delivery Revenue (WDR) report and the Monthly Water Statements (MWS).
- Maintain ledgers for various facilities recording water payments and charges.
- Update the Reclamation website with contractor notification letters, workshop handouts, and other pertinent ratesetting information.
- Assist in an array of activities associated with the annual water ratesetting process.
- Perform various fiscal year-end closing activities.
- Perform various research, review, and analyses in connection with Branch related activities.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
- You must submit a resume and supporting documentation.
- You must meet any minimum education and/or experience requirements.
- You must submit transcript(s) to verify education requirements.
- You must maintain a valid State Driver's License at all times.
To qualify for this position, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-04 level in federal service. This experience must include generating reports and statements, maintaining ledgers, updating the Reclamation website, and performing various fiscal year-end closing activities.
Alternatively, you may qualify with a successful completion of 4 years (120 semester hours) of education obtained in an accredited college or university in any field. You must provide a copy of your transcripts.
Or, you may qualify with an equivalent combination of successfully completed education and experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
EducationThis position does not allow substituting education for experience for the GS-07 level.
This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience at the GS-05 and GS-06 grade level. Applicants must submit a copy of college transcript(s) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience.
