Safety Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Safety Coordinator. In this role, you will assist in the creation, maintenance, and distribution of safety documents, including policies, procedures, and training materials. You will also help with the organization and management of safety records, ensuring they are up to date and compliant with relevant regulations. Additionally, you will prepare reports, presentations, and summaries related to safety metrics and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the creation, maintenance, and distribution of safety documents
Help with the organization and management of safety records
Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries related to safety metrics and compliance
Develop and maintain a checklist to track employee participation in safety training programs
Assist in the scheduling and coordination of safety training sessions
Monitor training completion rates and follow up with employees and managers to ensure compliance with training requirements
Conduct research and gather data on industry best practices and regulatory updates to support continuous improvement of safety programs
Assist with the implementation of new safety initiatives, including risk assessments and incident investigations
Participate in safety audits and inspections, providing support with documentation and follow-up on corrective actions
Help create and distribute safety-related communications, such as newsletters, safety alerts, and posters
Assist in organizing safety committee meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and following up on action items
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with data entry and report generation
A keen interest in workplace safety and a commitment to promoting a safe work environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
Must have a valid driver's license and clean MVR
Normal business hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. The Safety Coordinator position allows for flexible and variable hours, based on your availability
