Interventional Radiology Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures on patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with pre and post-patient assessment, patient teaching, and patient care within the scope of practice.
- Prepare work schedules to ensure sufficient staff is available for patient appointments.
- Explain interventional radiology procedures to patients and obtain consent forms.
- Assist physicians with procedures using fluoroscopic imaging and contrast media.
- Use proper radiation safety measures to conform to the ALARA principle.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot technical and mechanical problems.
- Order equipment, film, and supplies and manage inventories.
- Review and submit reports on examinations conducted.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and physicians.
- Maintain proper documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Ability to identify adverse events or unanticipated outcomes using critical thinking skills.
- Maintains licensure, certification, and ongoing CEUs for professional development.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires a high degree of accuracy, awareness of radiation and patient safety issues, and a thorough understanding of normal anatomy, abnormal physiology, and interventional supplies and equipment operation.
