About the Role:

As a key member of our team at S&ME, you will be responsible for performing office and field work associated with traditional environmental assessments, compliance, and permitting projects. You will work under the direction of a project manager to conduct fieldwork and reporting for environmental assessments, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs and Brownfields assessments.

  • Conduct fieldwork and reporting for environmental assessments, including soil borings, monitoring wells, and vapor point installations.
  • Collect and analyze groundwater, vapor, and soil/sediment samples.
  • Perform fieldwork, assessments, and reporting for industrial hygiene contaminants and hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, PCBs, mercury, and indoor air quality.
  • Monitor compliance through stormwater sampling and underground storage tank (UST) assessments and investigations.
  • Record and interpret data, compare results to regulations, and prepare standard environmental reports.
About You:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with a Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, geology, chemistry, or a related field. You should have 2+ years of experience in a related field and basic technical writing skills at the college level. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training is also required.

  • You have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You are able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You have a valid driver's license and are able to travel out-of-town for assignments as necessary.
