Essential Qualifications for the Geotechnical Project Engineer:
#1 A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering with a strong emphasis on geotechnical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution is mandatory.
#2 A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is strongly recommended.
#3 Completion of the 40 HR Hazwoper training and an 8-hour refresher course is required.
#4 Engineer In Training (EIT) certification is essential; Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) licensure is preferred but not mandatory.
Key Requirements for the Role:
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a strong focus on geotechnical engineering or a similar curriculum from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience is recommended.
- A Master's degree in a related field is desirable.
- A valid driver's license and personal transportation are necessary, along with the ability to travel for site visits, meetings, data collection, and training as required by project needs.
- Engineer In Training (EIT) certification is required; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.
- Active participation in ongoing education, such as pursuing a Master's degree or engaging in professional organizations (e.g., ASCE, PGS, LSPA), and involvement in preparing technical papers or other professional development activities is expected.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, including relevant building codes and AASHTO LRFD bridge design specifications as they apply to project work and basic calculations.
Additional Key Requirements:
- This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days a week in the office.
- We do not offer sponsorships or accept visa holders. Corp-to-Corp arrangements are not permitted.
