About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead our HV/EHV substation design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for all aspects of HV/EHV substation design, including leading and coordinating technical aspects of AC power substation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of AC power substation projects
  • Develop and update project schedules, value engineering, and planning and tracking project design reviews
  • Responsible for power single line drawing, plan and elevation drawings, general substation arrangement and layout, layouts and details for high voltage bus, cable, high voltage equipment, conduit, cable, and wiring, grounding, and control buildings
  • Provide oversight and reviews of deliverables in the ITO Process
  • Support manager in assigned team maintaining billable hours targets
  • Direct the efforts of engineers and designers, coordinating with sourcing and the project team on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a accredited University
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial or utility HV & EHV substation design or MSEE (power) with 3 years engineering experience in industrial or utility HV/EHV substation design
  • Professional Electrical Engineering license in the U.S., and to use their license as part of their work; must be able and willing to get a PE license in CA
  • Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, including international, and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong preference for experience with PG&E substation design standards
  • Experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering for utilities and renewable energy power plants and projects experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation type applications, including primary (outdoor) substation design and required calculations
