Position Overview:

The selected candidate will be an integral part of the Office of Research Administration, providing essential pre- and post-award support to researchers engaged in various medical studies. Responsibilities include:
  • Pre-Award Support: Assist in the preparation and submission of research proposals.
  • Award Management: Collaborate with researchers to ensure proper setup and management of awarded funds.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor project expenditures for compliance and prepare financial reports to aid in decision-making.
  • Effort Tracking: Ensure accurate allocation of effort and payroll to respective projects.
  • Post-Award Administration: Facilitate the completion of progress reports, amendments, and project close-outs.

Candidate Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in a financial or research-related field. Candidates with a background in research administration are encouraged to apply. Key skills include:
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and contractual obligations.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in an academic setting and familiarity with IRB and IACUC policies are advantageous. Candidates pursuing or holding a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) designation are preferred.
