Radiologic Technologist PRN

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will assist Radiologists or independently perform ordered imaging procedures to produce diagnostic images for interpretation.
Responsibilities- Perform physician-ordered diagnostic, fluoroscopic, and interventional imaging procedures.
- Confirm, clarify, and verify physician-written or verbal orders prior to implementing imaging procedures.
- Ensure proper patient identification and preparation for imaging procedures.
- Document findings relevant to imaging procedures in Technologist Notes.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, providing education and instructions to obtain desired results.
- Operate imaging equipment and associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
- Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
- Identify, prepare, and administer appropriate contrast media as determined by the procedure ordered.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper identification is recorded.
- Apply principles of ALARA and radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Implement appropriate infection control and standard precautions.
- Apply principles of patient safety during all aspects of imaging procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient PHI in accordance with HIPAA.
- Verify informed consent is obtained for interventional procedures.
- Assist Radiologists with specialized interventional imaging procedures.
- Assume responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
- Initiate basic life support or other emergency actions when necessary.
- Provide practical instruction and supervision for students and/or other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in department and hospital quality control, quality assessment, and improvement plans.
- Ensure procedures are correctly billed in a timely manner.
- Maintain supplies for assigned areas, ensuring proper use, inventory levels, and current supplies.
- Knowledgeable of computer hardware/software programs used to perform job duties.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance competency and performance.
- State Registered Radiologic Technician
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- Associate Degree
