The Radiologic Technologist plays a vital role in assisting Radiologists or performing ordered imaging procedures to produce diagnostic images for interpretation.
Key Responsibilities- Performs diagnostic, fluoroscopic, and interventional imaging procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Confirms and verifies patient identification and clinical history before performing procedures.
- Documents findings and patient information accurately and thoroughly.
- Prepares patients for imaging procedures, providing education and instructions to obtain desired results.
- Operates imaging equipment and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
- Positions patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest and applies principles of ALARA and radiation protection.
- Implements infection control and standard precautions, and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Registered Radiographer (ARRT) certification.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- State Registered Radiologic Technician.
- Associate Degree.
