Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Specialty Unit at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients, work collaboratively with the healthcare team, and assume leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and effective direct care to patients, incorporating age-specific considerations and individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement and document care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Participate in orientation and assume precepting and evaluation responsibilities of new personnel.
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and patient safety.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document clinical findings.
Requirements:
- Essential: Program Graduate, Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days.
- Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree, Nationally Certified in area of specialty, PALS, TNCC and/or ENPC.
Working Conditions:
- Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
- Essential: Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE.
