Nurse Practitioner

Join the University of New Mexico - Hospitals team as a Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse and take advantage of our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This program offers increasing compensation based on your Nursing Education and National Certifications. You'll work towards one of five CAP levels, with opportunities for advancement and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients, working within the nursing process to ensure safe and effective care.
- Assume relief charge duties and provide clinical leadership for other staff members.
- Participate in orientation and precepting new personnel, enhancing your professional growth and development.
- Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information and maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document and communicate clinical findings.
- Essential: Program Graduate, Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days.
- Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree, Bilingual English/Spanish, Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE.
