POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for the upkeep, repair, and servicing of machinery and vehicles at Rose Acre Farms and its transport division. Duties may extend to various locations beyond the main workshop. The primary focus of the mechanics will be on equipment maintenance, with additional responsibilities as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluates vehicle status through thorough inspections and diagnostic assessments.
  • Ensures machinery readiness by executing preventive maintenance plans; implementing component upgrades; managing corrosion control; and performing seasonal preparations.
  • Addresses vehicle issues by disassembling, repairing, adjusting, and reassembling critical systems, including powertrains, electrical systems, air conditioning, fuel systems, emissions, brakes, steering, and hydraulics; conducts machine shop tasks; and makes necessary adjustments and alignments.
  • Maintains accurate vehicle maintenance records by documenting services and repairs.
  • Ensures workshop equipment is functional by adhering to operational guidelines; troubleshooting malfunctions; managing inventory; performing preventive maintenance; and requesting repairs when necessary.
  • Upholds a clean, safe, and efficient workspace consistently.
  • Completes additional tasks as directed by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in understanding, reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Prior experience in the maintenance and repair of gas or diesel machinery is essential.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly.
  • Highly organized with the capability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including the potential for late hours and occasional weekend or holiday work to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks effectively and completing them within designated timeframes.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety standards while handling company equipment on and off-site.
  • Willingness to adhere to all company employment policies.
  • Ability to uphold stringent animal welfare standards and report any incidents of mistreatment or breaches of biosecurity to protect the health and welfare of livestock.
  • Capable of working in a completely smoke-free environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to function in an agricultural setting, including indoor and outdoor environments, offices, warehouses, processing areas, and production facilities, each with varying temperatures and specific conditions.
  • Willingness to extend work hours beyond scheduled times to complete necessary tasks, if required.
  • Ability to operate in an open office atmosphere.
  • Maintain professionalism in interactions with colleagues.
