Behavioral Youth Counselor

Job Summary
At Youth Villages, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Youth Counselor to join our team. As a Behavioral Youth Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to at-risk youth, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in life.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach life skills and provide daily care to children in a residential treatment setting.
- Assist in treatment planning and develop individualized plans to meet the unique needs of each child.
- Conduct daily documentation, including contact notes, milieu notes, and precautionary notes.
- Participate in client transports and recreation therapy activities.
- Implement coping skills and other therapeutic interventions to improve children's behavior.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience working with at-risk youth is a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of walking and standing are required.
- Physical agility and ability to participate in physical interventions with youth.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.
Benefits
- Average annual salary of $62,000 based on schedule and hours worked.
- Time-and-a-half pay for worked holidays.
