Job Summary:

As a Recreation Therapist at Youth Villages, you will play a vital role in helping children with emotional and behavioral challenges develop essential life skills and build confidence. This position requires a strong passion for working with youth and a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recreation programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to ensure recreation services are integrated with special services
  • Adapt programs to meet the unique needs of residents
  • Provide life skills training through therapeutic activities
  • Maintain recreation equipment and consult with staff on replacement needs

Requirements:

  • Lifeguard certification required
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Parks and Recreation, Exercise Science, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience with experiential education, community recreation, and wilderness therapy preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
