Special Education Assistant

Partners in Special Education is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Paraprofessional, you will play a vital role in supporting our special education students and teachers in achieving their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the IEP team to evaluate student progress and implement IEP objectives.
- Implement academic instruction for individuals or small groups to meet learning goals.
- Implement behavioral plans to support students with behavior disorders or special conditions.
- Provide instructional support to special education students in various subjects, including math, science, reading, and behavioral skills.
- Maintain instructional materials and student files/records to ensure availability and accuracy.
- Monitor students to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
- Perform record-keeping and clerical functions to support the teacher.
- Communicate with surrounding school districts to retrieve and provide Special Education documents.
- Investigate and visit alternative Special Education programs to use as a referring resource.
- Attend meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information relative to job functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and two years of college or A.A. degree.
- CBEST preferred.
- Ability to connect with students and motivate them in a positive way.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of office equipment, especially the computer.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
