Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Admissions Counselor to join our team at North Shore Community College. As a key member of our Enrollment Services department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with special populations, including adult learners, community centers, and immigrant and refugee communities. Your primary focus will be on outreach and recruitment of new students to the College, enhancing and developing connections with community members, area high schools, guidance counselors, and local immigration centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to target diverse student populations, including adult learners, Hispanic and Latinx communities, and other immigrant and refugee groups.
  • Participate in electronic, tele-counseling, and social media campaigns to engage with prospects and follow up with inquiries and applicants.
  • Consistently communicate with prospective students, applicants, and new registered students through the College's CRM system.
  • Create and maintain a resource hub providing information on educational programs, on-campus student services, and other relevant information for specialized populations.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment events focused on serving the needs of specialized populations.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with guidance counselors, parents, community-based organizations, and North Shore Community College faculty and staff.
  • Represent the College at fairs, alumni activities, open houses, campus tours, school visits, community fairs, and other recruitment events.
  • Participate in the evaluation of admissions and recruitment activities to assess their effectiveness in supporting student success.
  • Maintain accurate data entry of recruitment activities within the College's student information system and CRM.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with at least two years' experience in undergraduate admissions or related enrollment services area; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience with technology and database systems, including Ellucian/Banner, CRM, Navigate, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of student recruitment and admissions.
  • Strong presentation skills and outstanding public relations and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends for recruitment events.
  • Valid driver's license and local travel required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success interacting with culturally diverse populations and building relationships with school guidance counselors, teachers, parents, and community agency representatives.
