The Patient Care Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients and guests arriving at InnovaCare Health facilities. This role requires a high level of customer service focus, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Welcoming Patients and Visitors: Greet patients and visitors upon arrival, manage the waiting room to ensure wait times are within 15 minutes of arrival, and notify patients and visitors of any delays.
- Front Desk Workflow Management: Manage the front desk workflow, communicate with medical assistants, and maintain accurate registration by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Manage the provider's schedule daily, assist patients with problem-solving potential issues related to the healthcare system, financial or social barriers, and coordinate with case managers to schedule hospital follow-up appointments.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain, file, and scan medical records, prepare records for scheduling, and ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed in a timely manner.
- Financial Transactions: Collect patient financial payment responsibility, balance daily deposits, and prepare bank deposits according to company policies.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years in a medical-related customer service role.
- Skills: Strong customer service focus, effective written and oral communication skills, teamwork orientation, organized, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding, and electronic health records.
