Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced educator to join our team as a Career and Instructional Elective Educator at Gateway Charter School. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing a flexible program and classroom environment that fosters student learning and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Planning and Delivery
    • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with established guidelines and goals.
    • Design and deliver individual and group learning activities that meet instructional objectives and student needs.
    • Prepare for classes assigned and demonstrate evidence of preparation upon request.
  • Classroom Environment and Management
    • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
    • Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and includes student-generated work on display as appropriate.
    • Implement all relevant policies governing student conduct and develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior.
  • School and Community Relations
    • Establish cooperative relationships with parents/guardians and communicate clearly and consistently with them.
    • Cooperate with members of the administration and other staff to achieve common goals.
    • Maintain confidentiality about students and participate in extracurricular activities as required.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
    • Possession of valid teaching certification (as appropriate).
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment towards the job and the mission of the company.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize wisely.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, parents, and administrative staff.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication, negotiation, and influencing.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position is typical of a school setting, with occasional noise during high student traffic.
