Your Role
The Lead Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in nurturing the vibrant Snooze culture by overseeing and preparing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring compliance with sales and use tax regulations, conducting variance analysis, spearheading projects, and meticulously managing general accounting tasks.

This position will also foster strong relationships with our vendors and restaurant teams, addressing all their accounting needs.

Your contributions will be vital to the ongoing success of Snooze and will be an essential part of our expanding accounting team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts.
  • Record weekly payroll for restaurants and investigate variances, acting as a liaison with the payroll department.
  • Reconcile activities and payments from third-party delivery services.
  • Conduct actual versus budget variance analysis and review financial statements for each period.
  • Prepare necessary schedules for annual audits.
  • Lead new initiatives and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support Snooze's operational needs.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in staff accounting or public accounting (senior level preferred).
  • A CPA license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to work 45 to 50 hours per week as needed.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
