Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the Metropolitan Council. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our customers and employees, as well as protecting our property and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas in a squad car, on foot, or onboard public transit to prevent and respond to incidents
  • Conduct visual inspections and recognize, respond, investigate, and enforce violations of laws and ordinances
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community partners to maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries and concerns
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Law Enforcement from an accredited college or university
  • Current licensure as a peace officer in the State of Minnesota or eligibility for licensure by the time of conditional offer
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Law Enforcement or a related field
  • Conversational proficiency in a second language
  • Previous experience working as a full-time sworn police officer
