Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Maplewood, MN. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and providing excellent customer service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, and provide assistance to citizens as needed.
  • Investigate complaints and incidents, and prepare accurate and thorough reports.
  • Conduct searches, apprehend and arrest law violators, and transport prisoners.
  • Provide emergency medical care and first aid as needed.
  • Assist other agencies as needed, and maintain contact and cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.
  • Provide information and assistance to citizens, and answer questions about department policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field, and licensed as a full-time police officer by the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training.
  • Valid Minnesota driver's license or equivalent out-of-state license.
  • Pass a background investigation, physical fitness standards, and psychological exams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Fluency in a language other than English, including sign language.
