Overview:


The Junior Asset Management Analyst will be instrumental in assisting the asset management team by delivering thorough financial and operational evaluations for a collection of hotels.

This role encompasses tracking hotel performance, executing market research, and generating comprehensive reports to aid in strategic decision-making.

The position will aid the Hotel Asset Management team in achieving their goals of enhancing asset value by overseeing hotel operator outcomes and collaborating with them to boost revenues, manage expenses, and optimize flow-through to EBITDA while ensuring asset quality and guest satisfaction are upheld.

The Junior Asset Management Analyst will collaborate with the Hotel Asset Management team and support the review of financial metrics and reports, including portfolio and hotel profit and loss statements, STR data, sales and revenue management data, and hotel forecasts.


Responsibilities:
Analyze and assess operational data, including monthly financials, forecasts, and budgets to assist Managers in achieving optimal hotel performance.

Conduct variance analysis to pinpoint discrepancies and offer actionable insights.

Ensure the precise and timely preparation and delivery of standard weekly, monthly, and quarterly market and operations reporting.

Monitor portfolio and hotel-level objectives as requested by asset managers.

Collaborate with the Hotel Asset Management team on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Participate in periodic hotel site visits as necessary to ensure hotel quality and performance align with operational goals.

Track and provide updates on long-term portfolio and hotel-specific initiatives.

Conduct market research to remain informed about industry trends, competitor performance, and market dynamics.

Benchmark hotel performance against industry standards and competitors.

Assist in meeting coordination, preparation, and follow-up between Hotel Asset Management and hotel operators.

Complete special ad hoc projects and analyses as required.

Identify and enhance asset/portfolio performance through suggested revenue, expense, and capital initiatives.

Collaborate with the Hotel & Senior Living Business Intelligence team on capital, renovations, reporting, and special analysis. Facilitate and consolidate information as needed from the operations asset management team.

Support Senior Living asset managers based on departmental needs.

Document, organize, trace, and communicate regularly regarding the performance of assigned assets.

Assist internal stakeholders within RMR with inquiries and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, preferably in hospitality, finance, or business.

Relevant knowledge of the hospitality industry and hotel operations work experience is highly desirable.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with PowerBI and Power Pivot is a plus.

Working knowledge of property-level financial statements and the ability to comprehend complex pro forma models.

Strong analytical skills with the capability to review, analyze, and report on diverse quantitative and qualitative hotel metrics.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and results-driven environment.
