Position Overview

This is a Per Diem (as needed) role within Community Health Systems.

Role Summary:

The individual will execute therapeutic interventions for patients in the Emergency Department, collaborating with the emergency response team under the guidance of the Administrative Medical Director or an online qualified physician, as well as the ED Nursing Leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

Required: High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred: Specialized training beyond high school.

Experience:

Required: Minimum of one year of experience in a pre-hospital environment.

Skills:

Ability to perform medical treatments, procedures, and skills that align with the scope of practice for a Certified Emergency Paramedic as defined by regulatory standards. Key competencies include:

  • Effective prioritization and planning abilities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and service skills.
  • Commitment to policy adherence and process improvement.
  • Proactive approach to assisting with various tasks as needed.

Licenses and Certifications:

Required: Arizona state Certified Emergency Paramedic certification or National EMS Certification as a Paramedic from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Additionally, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from recognized organizations are mandatory.
