Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Day Support Specialist to join our team. As a Day Support Specialist, you will provide medical oversight and support to individuals with autism in our residential programs. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical oversight and support to individuals with autism in our residential programs, working closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Accompany individuals on medical appointments and prepare necessary paperwork.
  • Implement follow-up actions related to medical appointments and schedule dental/medical appointments as needed.
  • Maintain medication certification and update medications and medical appointment data in our agency software program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Six months of experience in a human service field.
  • Valid New York State driver's license.
  • Reliable vehicle and willingness to transport residents to appointments.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, grasping, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Ability to move, reposition, and lift and transfer individuals as required by prescribed program/plan.
