About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Day Support Specialist to join our team at Autism Services, Inc. As a key member of our residential care team, you will provide medical oversight and support to individuals with autism, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical oversight and guidance to ensure regulatory compliance in our Individualized Residential Alternative (IRA) residential settings.
- Accompany individuals on medical appointments and prepare necessary paperwork.
- Implement follow-up actions related to medical appointments and schedule dental/medical appointments as needed.
- Maintain medication certification and update medications and medical appointment data in our agency software program.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least six months of experience in a human services field.
- Valid New York State driver's license.
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to transport residents to appointments.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, sitting, grasping, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
- Ability to move, reposition, and lift and transfer individuals as required by prescribed program/plan.
