Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians and other staff members.

Responsibilities
  • Physical Examinations and Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments of patients to identify potential health issues.
  • Patient Management: Develop and implement patient care plans, including medication administration, fluid therapy, and other treatments as needed.
  • IV Fluid Administration/CRI/Drug Calculations and Administration: Administer IV fluids, calculate and administer medications, and provide critical care to patients as needed.
  • Hands-Free Radiology: Assist with radiology procedures, including taking X-rays and performing other imaging studies.
  • Sedation and Anesthesia and Post-Procedure Recovery: Assist with sedation and anesthesia procedures, and provide post-procedure care to patients.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including ultrasound, CT scans, and endoscopy.
  • Medical Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for patients.
  • Client Education and Communication: Educate clients on their pets' medical conditions, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
Requirements
  • License: Must be a licensed veterinary technician in the state of New York.
  • Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience as a veterinary technician in a hospital setting.
  • Skills: Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
