Job Summary

Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician II to join our team in the Small Animal Community Practice. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide exceptional patient care, support our veterinarians, and contribute to the education and training of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including restraint, venipuncture, and anesthesia assistance
  • Support veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and patient management
  • Assist with patient intake, examination, and discharge processes
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Teach and mentor veterinary students, interns, and residents in technical skills and procedures
  • Participate in Shelter Outreach Service (SOS) trips, providing care and education to animals in need
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent experience
  • Current licensure as a Veterinary Technician in New York State or eligibility to become licensed
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Physical stamina to handle stressful situations, prolonged standing, and lifting heavy patients
