About the Role

VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician Specialty Supervisor to join our team in the Emergency Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated individual to take on a leadership role and contribute to the success of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans and protocols.
  • Provide guidance and support to veterinary technicians and other hospital staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and hospital operations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs for veterinary technicians and other hospital staff.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a veterinary technician in the state of New York.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician in an emergency or critical care setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
