Job Summary

As an Engineering Manager at ESPO Corporation, you will be responsible for leading the Engineering Department, comprising mechanical engineering, electrical design, and Application Engineering. Your key responsibilities will include developing and implementing standardized processes, performance metrics, and reporting to support the company's strategic plans. You will oversee all technical resources to meet OEM/aftermarket project requirements and deadlines effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing engineering and applications performance metrics with the management team to identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead the department to a focused structure, process, and performance metrics aligned with ISO procedures and work instructions.
  • Develop Engineering & Applications metrics in cooperation with the management team and Sales & Service Leader to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure engineering to cost estimate accuracy, adherence to cost estimates, on-time engineering to commit date, design accuracy, absorbed engineering hours, warranty, and trailing costs corrective actions.
  • Applications – Proposal speed and accuracy, SPIN-based proposal development, risk assessment.
  • Provide leadership for the management team by supporting, developing, and setting/measuring goals and objectives, ensuring a safe workplace for employees, exercising good judgment, and setting a good example.
  • Lead organizational development via organizational skills assessment and identification of team development requirements. Coordinate training and mentoring programs with team leaders to develop future leaders.
  • Support Management teamwork assignment to optimize resource utilization and talents to effectively meet customer requirements on time.
  • Lead development of a strong interface with the supply chain organization to review engineering contribution to manufacturing process and proactively improve and resolve design-related issues for manufacturability.
  • Lead Development of Applications strong interface with NA Sales and Service team to support application development, technical support, and proposal to order close rate.
  • Coordinate and interface with NA organization to develop solutions to support regional Parts formation and Parts Preparation businesses.
  • Customer travel as required to develop and advance industry expertise.
  • Perform special projects and duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) in a relevant Engineering Field is required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • 10 years+ direct Engineering management experience required, including experience within the Machine Design industry.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Access, Windows-based Office software, and 2D and 3D design software. SolidWorks preferred.
  • Understanding and experience in stress calculations and machine drive calculations, pneumatic and hydraulic components and controls, standard welding practices, bill of material structure, and revision control. Understand and utilize fundamental design practices and demonstrate experience in product design using CAD and/or three-dimensional modeling software.
