WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS
This position is responsible for the administration and enhancement of procedures to guarantee precise material costs. The role includes managing cost centers, product costing, budgeting, and monthly estimates and actual reporting. Reporting to the Director of Acrylic Products Operations, the Manufacturing Financial Controller will audit the inventory system and uphold the standard cost system within the Acrylic Products division. This encompasses the analysis of manufacturing variances for Acrylic Products operations across multiple locations. The role also involves special projects aimed at continuously improving plant profitability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Uphold, promote, and enforce all company policies and practices related to quality, safety, industrial hygiene, environmental protection, and loss prevention. Conduct internal ISO audits of quality and environmental systems.
- Maintain the standard cost system for the Acrylic Products division in North America, ensuring accuracy in various areas including:
- Bill of materials
- Manufacturing cost extensions from plants to warehouses
- Master data accuracy
- New product setup for NMAT SBOM/Recipe/Production version
- Costing and accounting views on finished products
- Configuration checks
- Procurement alternatives and mixed costing setups
- Object dependencies creation/modification
- Existing NMATs maintenance
- Alternative BOM additions and new raw material part number cost setups
- Subcontracting BOM setups
- Oversee all aspects of production variance analysis and cost analysis for the Acrylic Products division, including monthly summaries and explanations of variances, as well as reviews of production orders to ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of manufacturing plan reviews as required.
- Provide Plant Management, Business Management, and Controlling with critical information to monitor and project plant operations, which will inform business decisions, including cost estimates for new products.
- Manage the preparation of the annual budget for Acrylic Products plant cost centers.
- Responsible for scheduling, resource preparation, and reconciliation of all plant physical inventories for products/materials, including monthly reporting and support for consignment and subcontracting inventory reconciliations.
- Strive to enhance SAP reporting, collaborating with manufacturing and IT personnel to ensure accurate production reporting and address potential system improvements.
- Participate in daily production meetings to stay informed about plant activities as necessary.
- Maintain open communication with the Master Data Team (both local and global) to ensure costing is performed for all new products.
- Attend weekly Plant Manager meetings as needed.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related Financial Management field.
- A minimum of five years of accounting experience in a manufacturing setting, with at least two to three years in plant controlling or cost accounting.
- Familiarity with standard cost and full absorption accounting.
- Proficient in PC and spreadsheet/word processing software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with SAP is essential.
