Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Primary Culinary Subject Matter Authority: Serve as the primary culinary subject matter authority within the Defense Sector.

  • Mentor and Develop Team Members: Provides overall mentorship, inspiration, direction, and training for all culinary team members.

  • Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain: Partners with purchasing and supply chain to facilitate ingredient selection, maintenance of managed order guides, and supplier optimization.
  • Support Business Development: Supports business development process in collaboration with sector-specific partners.
  • Develop Standardized Recipes: Experiences design, development, and maintenance of standardized recipes for various applications.
  • Serve as Primary Culinary Expert: Serves as the primary culinary subject matter expert within the company and communicates and educates on the latest trends within the Defense industry.
  • Develop Long-Term Culinary Strategy: Develops a long-term culinary strategy that balances consumer expectations with corporate financial goals/budgets.
  • Maintain Strategic Accountability: Maintains strategic accountability for overall menu/product offerings, including food cost controls, core recipe standardization, portion standards, inventory management, prep standards, and waste/cost control programs.
Qualifications:
  • Culinary Degree: Culinary Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Culinary Management Experience: 7+ years of culinary management experience.
  • Project Management Skills: Project management skills.
  • Revenue Generation: Ability to generate revenue by building top-line driven initiatives, understanding the importance of middle and bottom-line tactics.
  • Strategic and Analytic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytic thinking.
  • Proven Track Record: A proven track record in managing and leading an R&D team and/or menu innovation process - a plus.
  • Experience in Contract Food Service: Has experience in both restaurant/casual dining environments and contract food service, with proven success in scaling growth and thriving in a company of diverse market segments - preferred.
