Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Support Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting the Accounting Department by managing various financial processes, including Accounts Payable, account reconciliations, and record maintenance, among other responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting daily financial processes at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Transmitting daily financial pledge files.
  • Reconciling and monitoring multiple financial accounts.
  • Processing Accounts Payable transactions while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Entering and updating prepaid expenses in the designated system.
  • Collaborating with other departments to resolve reconciliation issues.
  • Assisting in the processing of investment-related transactions.
  • Maintaining daily and weekly financial rates.
  • Recording journal entries accurately.
  • Reviewing and verifying financial reports.
  • Monitoring postage, funding, and related entries.
  • Overseeing specific transactions and accounts, executing transactions as necessary.
  • Assisting with periodic regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Maintaining organized accounting files with timely filing practices.
  • Managing department supplies effectively.
  • Supporting the annual records retention process.
  • Researching general ledger and account activities as required.
  • Generating and distributing internal financial reports regularly.
  • Providing support to other department personnel as needed and taking on additional tasks as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:

  • Familiarity with banking and accounting procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Adherence to policies and procedures regarding the confidentiality of customer and bank information.
  • Professional representation of the bank in all interactions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands for this position include:

  • Ability to operate in a professional office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Occasional travel may be necessary.
  • Minimal physical demands, with some lifting of storage boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.
