Job Overview

Heil Environmental is seeking a highly skilled individual to fill the role of Quality Assurance Engineer. The ideal candidate will possess over 3 years of experience in quality assurance, demonstrating exceptional skills in root cause analysis, team leadership, and interpersonal communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the creation and upkeep of control plans both within production cells and at the conclusion of processes, leading Process Auditors to determine the reasons for defects identified downstream, implementing temporary containment measures, and guiding cross-functional teams in developing corrective actions.
  • Oversee the execution of layered process audits to verify the effectiveness and sustainability of corrective actions, product/process modifications, and the qualification of new team members.
  • Assist team members and leaders in executing product and process changes while managing high-risk characteristics.
  • Continuously enhance inspection effectiveness.
  • Develop training programs to ensure consistent product audits across different shifts.
  • Conduct internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Engage in teams focused on Kaizen and Lean initiatives, becoming an expert in both information and methodologies to aid activity leaders in identifying, measuring, and implementing improvements.
  • Analyze daily QMS reports to identify trends and opportunities that require attention from limited resources.
  • Support fellow Quality team members by stepping into roles or participating in team activities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a structured manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and specifications, including geometric tolerances and welding standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with MS Project and MS Access is advantageous.
  • Skilled in using CAD and 3D modeling software, including attribute assignments.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision while effectively implementing corporate strategies and objectives.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment; specific and general results, as well as operational effectiveness, are subject to supervisory review.
