Position Summary:
The Quality Supervisor will play a pivotal role in the ongoing enhancement, preservation, and maintenance of the quality management system at Heil Environmental. This position involves conducting internal quality audits based on ISO or ASQ quality audit certification principles. The supervisor will assist various departments in developing and implementing corrective action plans aimed at improving overall quality outcomes. A key responsibility will be to promote and educate on quality as a vital component for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the Quality Management System continually.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate and refine conformance requirements based on customer feedback and manufacturing process modifications.
  • Conduct quality and safety audits, compiling results for management review.
  • Develop training materials and communication tools to uphold quality and safety standards.
  • Keep employees informed of regulatory changes affecting quality and safety.
  • Train staff to enhance process quality and efficiency.
  • Support the development of sustainable improvements in both manufacturing and transactional processes.
  • Facilitate problem-solving with vendors and internal teams.
  • Implement electronic information systems via Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Investigate and address safety and quality issues through root cause analysis.
  • Revise and develop quality and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct initial inspections for production items and perform random in-process inspections.
  • Oversee final inspections prior to product shipment.
  • Maintain In-Process Inspection Sheets for production jobs.
  • Provide necessary inspection documentation as required by customers.
  • Prepare Deviation Reports and pursue resolutions.
  • Ensure calibration of measuring equipment and maintain compliance with company policies.
  • Manage inventory of inspection equipment, ensuring proper storage and security.
  • Address quality control issues with customers and manage defective or returned materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all quality-related areas.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Analyze data from audits and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Stay updated on quality policies and coordinate with management to achieve quality objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing context.
  • Strong report preparation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in time management.
  • Understanding of process audit principles (ISO/ASQ).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to conceptualize, analyze, plan, and organize projects effectively.
  • Familiarity with project management principles is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to create flowcharts from written descriptions is desirable.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and statistical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with operations personnel and suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and potentially internationally.
