Research Technician II

Job Summary
The Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason is seeking a highly skilled Research Technician II to provide technical laboratory support for biomedical research projects. This position will perform routine and non-routine lab procedures, preparing laboratory reagents, chemicals, stocks, cultures, and cell lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Perform chemical, physical, or biological analyses following written protocols.
- Conduct literature searches and read literature applicable to research area.
- Conduct lab inventory, complete purchase orders for hardware, glassware, and supplies.
- Document experiments involving human tissue culture and multiparameter flow cytometry following written protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field and a minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible work experience in a scientific research laboratory.
- Basic mathematical, data recording, computer database, data, and statistical analysis skills.
