Overview

The Benaroya Research Institute focuses on understanding various autoimmune disorders, including type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and relapsing polychondritis. Our team possesses significant expertise in MHC class II tetramers, T cell cloning, as well as T and B cell functional assays and human lymphocyte phenotyping.

Key Responsibilities

This role entails delivering essential laboratory support for biomedical research initiatives, encompassing both standard and specialized laboratory tasks.

Specific duties include:

  • Formulating laboratory reagents, chemicals, stocks, cultures, and cell lines.
  • Utilizing a range of laboratory equipment such as spectrometers, electrophoresis radiation counters, PCR machines, and various measuring devices.
  • Executing chemical, physical, or biological assessments in accordance with established protocols.
  • Preparing fractionated blood samples using sterile techniques.
  • Maintaining comprehensive laboratory records by documenting detailed data, including photography and computer entries, in a meticulous manner.
  • Conducting literature reviews and engaging with relevant research publications.
  • Managing lab inventory and processing purchase orders for necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Carrying out and documenting experiments involving human tissue culture and multiparameter flow cytometry in line with written protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in basic mathematics, data documentation, computer database management, and statistical analysis. Skills in animal surgery techniques may be necessary.
  • A BA/BS in a scientific discipline and a minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in a scientific research laboratory are required.

Compensation

Salary range: $51,070 to $75,070 annually.
