POSITION SUMMARY

The Fox Technology Center (FTC) hosts a growing array of operational shared services that facilitate the monetization and distribution of content for FOX's internal and external partners. Managing a complex suite of systems and applications is essential to support the array of products that comprise FTC services.

FOX is seeking a Quality Control Engineer responsible for defining, managing, curating, and developing the products and services that form the foundation of what FTC offers.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Quality Control Engineer at FTC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the products and services delivered to our downstream partners. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing product views for new and existing services
  • Collaborating with downstream partners and affiliates to gather personas, analyze requirements, and define features
  • Coordinating with Engineering and Operations teams to guide the development of supporting infrastructure and applications
  • Managing the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) of the product portfolio
  • Collaborating with internal and external partners to manage product resources and deliverables
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance existing products and proposing innovative ideas for new offerings
  • Gaining insights into operational efficiency and exploring new production models
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of FTC production processes, workflows, and applications
  • Oversee the FOX Media Metadata Manager (SCTE 224) platform as a product
  • Document XML development processes, XML schema definitions, rules, and standards, while preparing progress reports
  • Create and maintain a product view of the services provided by FTC
  • Collaborate with upstream business users to expand the product portfolio
  • Engage with downstream customers to enhance product features
  • Work alongside Engineering to develop new products
  • Conduct soft marketing of products to internal and external partners
  • Participate in Tier 3 on-call rotation support for the services developed and operated by your team
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong knowledge of SCTE 224 Event Scheduling and Notification Interface (ESNI) Specifications
  • Solid understanding of SCTE 236 Content Metadata Specifications
  • Basic programming skills, including familiarity with JSON/XML and Python
  • Experience in a leadership role managing teams
  • Familiarity with live sports channel origination and distribution environments
  • Strong grasp of OTT and streaming workflows
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud service providers
  • Support other Media Operations teams in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to develop new technological solutions
  • Ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail, multitask, and perform well under pressure
  • Proven track record in creating products and/or services
  • Adept at defining features and prioritizing them for MVP
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to manage upwards
  • Strong analytical skills for understanding requirements and workflows
  • Creative in translating services into product features
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Service Cloud CRM
  • Experience with Coral Multi-Sided Platform (MSP)
