Restaurant Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at HEI Hotels & Resorts. As a Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, room service, and other food and beverage outlets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day operations of the restaurant and room service, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Manage the human resources in the various outlets, including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, and developing staff.
  • Implement company programs and manage the operations of the restaurant, room service, and other food and beverage outlets to ensure compliance with safety regulations and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Forecast, implement, monitor, control, and report on the various outlet budgets and their components to maximize revenue and minimize expenses.
  • Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.
  • Create, recommend, and implement promotions, displays, buffet presentations, and ideas to capture more in-house guests and a larger share of the local market.
  • Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the various outlet areas and equipment to protect the assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of post-high school education.
  • Two+ years of full employment in a related position.
  • Hotel experience preferred.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of the restaurant/hotel practices and procedures.
  • Supervision, management, and communication skills are required.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information and make logical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, including marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, preparation of business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance programs, hospitality law, and long-range planning.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
  • Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
  • Written communication skills to be concise, well-organized, complete, and clear.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
