About this role
As a Progressive Care Nurse at Corewell Health, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Our 30-bed unit is divided into two wings, with all beds being private and equipped with telemetry capability. We admit patients aged 15 and above, and our unit is designated for new stroke and post-tPA patients. We also have a neurology and pulmonary focus, and our nurses are certified in ACLS and required to obtain the NIHSS competency certificate within 30 days of orientation.

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital is a 193-bed, acute care teaching hospital that sponsors nine university-affiliated residency programs. We are a Magnet-designated facility, providing comprehensive medical and surgical care to our patients. Our hospital is one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes. We offer a wide range of services, including minimally invasive robotic procedures, orthopedic and neurosurgery services, and comprehensive women's health services.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, incorporating patient-family centered care principles.
- Utilize the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Nursing required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 5 years.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed healthcare role.
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months.
- Specialty certification highly recommended within 2 years.
